From a very young age, with a drawer full of Crayolas and watercolors, art has always been a part of my life. My childhood memories are vividly filled with hours of crafts, sewing and painting projects. As life went on I graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in Graphic Design and worked in the world of advertising in the 80’s. I veered of the professional career path to focus on family and raise a daughter. There were numerous art projects and volunteer jobs that kept me connected to the arts during those years. As my daughter left for college I began to re-connect with fine art by taking classes and joining a collaborative mixed media group. As it happens one thing led to another and the art projects started collecting and here I am with work to display!
I enjoy acrylic painting, glass mosaics, mixed media and a good craft project is never out of reach. For the past year, I have really found a comfortable place working in mixed media. I participated in collage, mixed media, and intuitive art classes and felt the process was an easy fit to my style.
My time is spent in Reston, Virginia and Asheville, NC. Asheville’s passion for the arts was a major reason in our locating this second home. I have enjoyed countless influences in the Asheville environment : classes, galleries, the river arts district, street-art, and especially the natural beauty of the area. It is a wonderful place to create!
